6. Large Magellan Cloud is our “grandmother” galaxy. |
|||
Supernova SN 1987A, the first since 1604 supernova visible with naked eye, has proven that Large Magellan Cloud (and not as traditionally supposed – the imaginary Milky Way galaxy) is the proper member of our Cosmic Hierarchy being a satellite of the Andromeda galaxy. It has confirmed our theoretical calculations that the Solar System distance to the Large Magellan Cloud is 164878 light-years, and its distance to Andromeda-Group of galaxies is 2.002 million light-years. One of the satellites of Large Magellan Cloud, containing Orion Complex and with it also our Solar System, is (probably) Omega Centauri Cluster. |
